I am 24 years old and I graduated from college in August of 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. I was fortunate enough to be offered a job at the same school where I had been student teaching. I student taught with 3-year olds, and was hired as a 4-year old teacher my first year teaching. Since then, our program has changed to better meet the needs of our students. Our 3 and 4 year olds are mixed together, and attend school as often as need be to receive their related services. I spent my second year teaching two groups of students who attended 3 1/2 days a week, and 1 group of students that attended 2 1/2 days a week. [Confusing I know] For my third year teaching, I will have students who attend 4 full days a week. These are the students in our program with severe disabilities or autism. I am really excited about starting this new adventure!

I started my Masters degree in Special Education with a focus area in Severe Disabilities/Autism back in June of 2011. In July of 2012 I completed my autism certification and am continuing to work part time on completing my masters degree.

I love where this blogging adventure has taken me since I started it in April of 2011. I couldn't imagine it going this far when I first started. I appreciate all of the comments, emails, stories, and ideas I have gained from starting my blog!
