In the beginning of the school year our dramatic play area is pretty simple/basic. Plates, pots & pans, food, and drinks. To spice it up a little bit in the beginning I thought I would put together a picnic area. Still keeping with the simplicity I like to have in the beginning, but infusing more exposure to written words and labeling.
Introducing...the Dramatic Play Picnic Set!
The set includes word cards of various food items to display:
A menu with prices for the "picnic cafe". I would suggest printing multiples of the menu:
A ordering card for placing a food order. I would suggest printing multiples of these as well:
And food pictures for ordering. The students can velcro these pictures onto their ordering card and/or write the name of the food item on the line of their ordering card with a dry erase marker if you have laminated the ordering cards:
You can find this Dramatic Play Picnic Set in my TpT store! The first 5 people to leave a comment & their e-mail here with a review about the product will receive a free copy!
I hope you enjoy!
I love your picnic set! It is so cute! I teach 2nd grade, but would love for my kids to be able to use it in our math center! Thank you!

Super cute! My room is decorated in red and white check this year (around CAFE theme) and we could use this in first grade as a writing/math center! Cute, cute, cute!
